11/9/2023 0 Comments Power supply for vox vt20xGoing to try see if I can get a trade in with this amp and replace it with the mustang and the mustang footswitch that actually does have a LED dispaly. Originally was looking to buy the mustang amp. The car would still be better spec'd and faster than most other cars on the road but who would actually want it? Its a similar problem with this amp - great spec, great potential but probably not as usable as most other amps out there even though they might be lower spec'd and cheaper. Who would want a BMW M5 with a manual gearbox if they were told that the car came with no clutch. VOX really feck'd up in my opinion, had they spent probably £10 more in production adding a LED display on the amp, or offering a foot switch with lights that allowed to you know what setting are currently selected then my opinion of this amp would be the complete opposite, I actually would want to keep it. There is no point having an amp that gives perfect tones or is packed full of features if the are not easily accessed.Īs far as I am concerned despite this amps real potential it is a total piece of junk. Ideally I would like to scroll through a list of songs (either preloaded or added by myself). But there might be a 3rd party pedal that is compatible with the VT20x, if you know of one please respond.įinally, as I dont have much hope of answer to the above, can someone recommend an alternative amp (possibly with an additional pedal) that will allow you to select sounds for a particular song in a logical and sensible manner and has a clear display. The Vox guys must of been on the piss that week too. Instead of simplifying things it makes thing more complicated as there is no lights or led display to suggest which settings are currently active. I went to the guitar shop only to find that the vox foot pedal is even worse than the amp. Is there a 3rd part app or website that has settings for particular songs or sounds?įinally it occurred to me that the foot pedal might be a solution. I did manage to recover a spreadsheet from it which I though was the answer to my prayers but then realised that the setting were for earlier Vox amps and a lot of the setting on the spreadsheet were not what I needed for my particular amp. There was a site that had all the setting but it is now dead. Is there anywhere where I can find the right settings for particular songs. Is there anyway I can get toneroom to work on my samsung J3? So before I get rid of this piece of junk, because that is exactly what it is unless I can easily use the features buried deep inside it, I wonder if I could ask a few qwuestion that might save me from having to buy a new amp I have a PC but not in the room I play my guitar. I have a samsung J3 and the vox app wont install. I know it has all the sound that I could want (i'm not a professional, and to be honest I wouldn't even consider myself a good guitarist) but were the guys that designed this on the piss the week they came up with this. A decision I am really beginning to regret.
